Corporate Leisure Archery
With origins in northern Europe, bows have been used for warfare, hunting and sports for over 10,000 years. Although it has been far-surpassed by the introduction of firearms, Archery is still an exciting and satisfying projectile-based precision sport that can be enjoyed by both adults and children alike. If you are looking for Archery hire in the UK, Corporate Leisure International are more than happy to come to venue and induct you and your guests into this ancient art.
Corporate Leisure International have two different types of bows available for budding archers to utilise on Archery activities:
The Recurve: The only class of bow that is shot at the Olympic Games, the Recurve's basic working principles are similar to that of a traditional longbow. Its defining feature is that the ends of the limbs curve forwards, which increases the power gained from the bow and smoothens the draw. These are easier for beginners to operate than the Longbow, and are supplied as standard by Corporate Leisure.
The Longbow: This traditional bow comes approximately 6 feet tall and are usually made from either one piece of wood (most famously yew). Longbows have been used by many cultures throughout the world, but perhaps most notoriously by the English at the Battle of Agincourt.
Our excellent Archery equipment is suitable for children aged 10 years old and upwards and can be used by archers of all abilities. Whether you are looking for an afternoon of concentrated archery involving challenges and competitions, or would like to incorporate this classic sport into a larger multi-activity day or team building event with a more casual approach, our trained instructors will ensure that every aspect of your time at the targets runs as smoothly and safely as possible.
Corporate Leisure provide a minimum of two recurve bows, a selection of arrows, FITA standard targets and stands, all safety equipment, including bracers and tabs, and a trained instructor as standard.
Please note: Longbows must be specifically requested.
Dimensions: Archery requires 150ft x 100ft for safe operation but the larger area available the better. Archery is not ideally suited to hard surfaces. No power required.
