Corporate Leisure Crossbows
Developed to be more accurate over shorter distances and easier to use than their non-mechanical counterparts, crossbows have been used for warfare, hunting and sports for over 2500 years, with their origins lying in Ancient Greece. Although it has been far-surpassed by the introduction of firearms in the middle ages, Crossbow Archery is still an exciting and satisfying projectile-based precision sport that can be enjoyed by both adults and children alike. If you are looking for Crossbow hire in the UK, Corporate Leisure International are more than happy to come to venue and induct you and your guests into this ancient art.
Corporate Leisure International use Barnet Sport Recurve Crossbows on their events, and these are made available for budding crossbowmen and women to utilise on Crossbow Archery activities:
The Crossbow: A variation on the general bow design, although instead of the limbs being held vertically, they are mounted horizontally on a stock much like that of a firearm. The string is pulled back manually and locked into place. The string remains in this locked position, held solely through mechanical means until the energy stored in its limbs is released by a trigger mechanism, which launches the loaded arrow. The energy stored in the shortened limbs is comparable to the longbow but packed into a smaller design that is also much easier to aim. Crossbows shoot bolts, which are shorter arrows than those usual for bows.
Our excellent crossbow equipment is suitable for children aged 10 years old and upwards and can be used by crossbow archers of all abilities. Whether you are looking for an afternoon of concentrated crossbow archery involving challenges and competitions, or would like to incorporate this classic sport into a larger multi-activity day or team building event with a more casual approach, our trained instructors will ensure that every aspect of your time at the targets runs as smoothly and safely as possible.
Corporate Leisure provide a minimum of two recurve crossbows, a selection of bolts, FITA standard targets and stands, all safety equipment, and a trained instructor as standard.
Dimensions: Crossbow archery requires 100ft x 100ft for safe operation but the larger area available the better. Crossbow archery is not ideally suited to hard surfaces. No power required.
